Can you show the exact syntax? Or better yet provide a replicable example?
Also, do
update query
just to make sure Stata is up to date and
installed correctly. Weird error messages
sometimes reflect an installation problem. I'm
getting bizarre error messages on a classroom
machine where I know Stata is not installed
correctly (and unfortunately I don't have the
read/write privileges needed to correct it).
