Nick, the book I mention (Is God A Mathematician?) includes only very
brief implication regarding the normal distribution.
P.S. What is interesting about the Cobb-Douglass function: it became
mainstream economics only in 1947. Prior to 1947 - Cobb and Douglass
work has been severely criticized. As a result Paul Douglass changed
his academic carrier and became a politician - and all his life he was
very bitter about this criticism
