Thanks Joe. Per your and Nick's suggestions I copied and pasted all
but the top lines into a new document and saved as different file name
and type. The data now load! But there is a funky preamble in the
first five rows, indicating something corrupt about the file:
v1
{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\cocoartf1187\cocoasubrtf390
{\fonttbl\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 Helvetica;}
{\colortbl;\red255\green255\blue255;}
\margl1440\margr1440\vieww20380\viewh8400\viewkind0
\pard\tx720\tx1440\tx2160\tx2880\tx3600\tx4320\tx5040\tx5760\tx6480\tx7200\tx7920\tx8640\pardirnatural
\f0\fs24 \cf0 40039300
But at least I now have all the data, I think.
Bad news: you now have a file saved as RTF (rich text format) rather than ASCII text. Use a good text editor to ensure that it is NOT saved as RTF.
