st: T Test Between Factor Variables

Hello All,
I am interested in performing t test between categorical/factor
variables, and I am not certain a simple way to do it in Stata.
I have factor variable of Region, and 5 regions 1 through 5, and I
also have a continuous household consumption variable. What I would
like to do is test various regions based on consumption.
I have found this webpage:
http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/library/anova_comp.htm and saw the
part where they do the regression with no constant then followed by
the subsequent tests.
I am having a bit trouble understanding the meaning of the tests. I am
interested in doing an doing t test of different levels of
consumption, but it appears that those tests are F tests. How can I do
a t test between my regions?
I can display the mean levels of consumption by region by using:
table Region, c(mean consumption)
But I would just like to do t tests between those means.
Sincerely,
Schuyler Blasy
