-project- has not been formally announced on Statalist but I recently
offered it as a possible solution here:
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2013-07/msg00664.html
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2013-05/msg00026.html
and this has generated some additional interest:

A new version of -project- is now available. Use -adoupdate project-
to upgrade to the new version. You can also get -project- using -net
from http://robertpicard.com/stata-.
The new version of -project- codes around some performance issues with
Stata 13 (-regexr()- is significantly slower in version 13). The help
file has been updated to further clarify issues that were recently
discussed on Statalist.
