I've been in similar situations several times where something is
essentially impossible or just not implemented in Stata, while trivial
in R, and I've used Roger Newson's -Rsource- (from SSC) to allow the
entire analysis to be captured in one script. It's a little awkward
but likely far less of a time sink than trying to fight an .ado file.
