The error message is a bit confusing in this case. The problem is that
you need to specify the control variables before you can fix them, so
your syntax should be:
ldecomp caco metscat400 lm hij, ///
direct(Pattern1_Tercil) ///
indirect(estudcat) ///
at(metscat400 0; lm 1; hij 1)
