Hi ____,
Step 1. Review the Statalist FAQ which you are asked to read prior to
submitting a query to the Statalist. In particular, you should pay attention
to advice given regarding how to ask a question that can be answered easily
and usefully; you should also look at the section regarding the use of your
full name when posting.
Step 2. Search the help files/manuals and/or the FAQ archives.
Step 3. If you are still having difficulty with your particular problem, use
the advice you would have read in Step 1 and you'll probably get some great
advice/help.
The problem with your question is there are too many unknowns to yield a
unique answer (or multiple answers that have the same unique solution). Are
these leading zeros only? zeros embedded in a larger string? zeros that
trail some string? Are you trying to get rid of the zeros in a number like
1,000,000 to rescale numeric variables? Are you interested in changing the
values or just changing the display formatting?
HTH,
Billy

Hi all,
I see that there are a lot of questions regarding replacing blanks with
zeros...I'm actually trying to do the opposite- replace zeroes with blanks.
The variable is called 'ACAP'...if anyone could provide the code it would be
appreciated.
