I can replicate problems with -findit-.
ssc d foobar
returns
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
package foobar from http://fmwww.bc.edu/repec/bocode/f
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TITLE
'FOOBAR': module to test SSC
DESCRIPTION/AUTHOR(S)
INSTALLATION FILES (type net install foobar)
foobar.ado
foobar.hlp
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(type -ssc install foobar- to install)
as expecetd, while
findit foobar
returns
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
search for foobar
(manual: [R] search)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keywords: foobar
Search: (1) Official help files, FAQs, Examples, SJs, and STBs
(2) Web resources from Stata and from other users
Search of official help files, FAQs, Examples, SJs, and STBs
Web resources from Stata and other users
(contacting http://www.stata.com)
no matches
(click here to return to the previous screen)
(end of search)
It seems -findit- does not return results results for "Web resources
from Stata and other users". This also true for e.g. -findit outreg2-
or -findit outreg-.
Maybe it has something to do with problems Kit Baum reported here:

Dear Listers,
I post the following questions for one of my colleague. She is
teaching experiment design. She suddenly find that the following
packages that can be used by Stata no longer findable! those packages
including:
tukeyhsd
tkcomp
anovacontrast
I also find that I cannot find some packages which do exist on SSC,
like psemail, you cannot use findit psemail but you do can ssc install
psemail.
what is the problem?
Thanks
