Ah, right, yes. I might be getting mixed up with Givens rotations or
something else entirely. This isn't part of my normal day-to-day.
What I was trying to say was that the QR decomposition forms a part of
the algorithm for the SVD, so the SVD will end up being much more
costly than the QR decomposition. It's overkill for most problems so
if you don't need it, it's not worth calculating.
