Feature request: plugin for Notepad++ (or other text editor)

Dear Statalisters,
I am using Notepad++ (v6.2.2) together with the excellent syntax
highlighting provided by the notepad-stats-integration website (*).
There are a few places where the syntax highlighting mis-fires,
though, in particular dealing with comments and compound double
quotes.
It would be fantastic if StataCorp or a skilled individual were to
develop a plugin for Notepad++ (or other FOSS text editor) that
replicated the syntax highlighting of the Stata do-file editor exactly
- or better yet provided additional features such as auto-complete,
matched braces, etc.
Best,
BL
