Hi,
Suppose I have a file with a header line L1 with headers H1, H2 and H3 , and say N corresponding data rows. Stata does not allow renaming the headers directly from H1, H2 and H3 to $H1, $H2 and $H3, but I want to use a text file that is created using -outsheet- by Stata in another application that requires headers to have a $ sign appended. I was thinking to use -file- command in Stata to read the file and replace the header.
What is the best way to do this? Is it possible to use the simultaneous "read write" option and "seek" the first row and then replace it? Would it be possible for someone to provide an example?
Thanks
