Hi,

If nothing else I can clarify the survey itself. The NLSY is the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, and if my recollection serves me well at the moment there are at least two distinct iterations of the survey. When I've looked at the documentation for that, and other similar surveys like NELS-88, the department of ED has usually done a great job documenting which set of weights you should use based on the analyses. I think Alauddin needs to think more carefully about the analysis they are planning and consult the documentation for clearer guidance.

HTH,
Billy
