On the Mac, is the shell command supposed to open the Terminal app or the X11 app?
On Mountain Lion, with XQquartz installed (new version of X11), both shell and xshell open X11.
I usually use shell for something like,
shell perl -p -i -w -e 's/\t/\ /g' ceph_chr2.freq
which works fine, but now I'm wondering what shell is supposed to do on its own.
