This is helpful. I was misreading your earlier description; perhaps
others were too.
Based on this description:
1. Forget about binomial models.
2. Poisson models look more attractive in this light.
3. Ordinal probit models look less attractive, unless you work
consistently with an open-ended uppermost category, say 5 or more.
Otherwise your model will just imply that the upper observed limit is
a limit in principle, which is contrary to assumption.
