In my data set, a variable that recorded the age (in weeks) of fish in 8 different ponds exists. Daily recordings of other vars such as number of death, feed consumption were also recorded. The age var only changes on weekly basis; for example, at the beginning of the study all fishes in pond A were 3 weeks old, hence 3 was recorded repeatedly for 7 times (1 week); also for 4 weeks, 5 weeks, etc for a period of 12 months. I was wondering how this type of var could be put into categories (at least 5).
