Subject | st: Computing minimum driving distance to an area (rather than a specific point) |
Date | Mon, 16 Apr 2012 11:19:45 +0200 |
Dear list members, I would like to compute the minimum driving distance from some buildings to the next neighboring municipality. For the buildings I have longitude and latitude and could hence use it with Ozimek and Miles' convenient -traveltime- command. However, for the municipalities I have not individual points, but only the municipality boundary lines as a shape file, which I cannot directly use with -traveltime-. If there were only a few cases, I would manually look up intercepts between the boundaries and streets, but I have too many cases to do this. Would anyone have an idea how to tackle this? Thanks so much and best regards, JZ * * For searches and help try: * http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?search * http://www.stata.com/support/statalist/faq * http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/
