About the Conference
---------------------
The 10th German Stata Users Group meeting will be held at the Social
Science Research Center Berlin (WZB) on Friday, June 1, 2012. Anyone
interested in Stata is invited to attend.
We are very delighted to announce the presenters and titles of this
year's keynote speeches:
(1) Patrick Royston and Willi Sauerbrei: Handling interactions in Stata,
especially with continuous predictors.
(2) Maurizio Pisati: "Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis using Stata"
Patrick Royston is professor at the University College London. He is
developer of the user written program -ice- for multiple imputation and
author of the book "Flexible Parametric Survival Analysis Using Stata".
Willi Sauerbrei is professor at the University of Freiburg. He is
co-author of the book "Multivariable Model-Building: A Pragmatic
Approach to Regression Anaylsis based on Fractional Polynomials for
Modeling Continuous Variables" (together with P. Royston).
Maurizio Pisati is professor of Sociology at the University of
Milano-Bicocca, Italy. He is is well known to Stata users for his
program suite for drawing thematic maps.
Moreover, William Gould and Bill Rising will be present. William Gould
is President of StataCorp, and Bill Rising is director of Educational
Services at StataCorp.
We still seek presentations on topics that include
o user-written Stata programs,
o case studies of research or teaching using Stata,
o discussions of data management problems,
o reviews of analytical issues, and
o surveys or critiques of Stata facilities in specific fields.
The conference language will be English because of the international
nature of the meeting and the participation of non-German guest

Submission
----------
If you are interested in presenting a paper, please send an abstract by
email to one of the scientific organizers. The deadline for submissions
is March 31, 2011. Please keep your presentation to 20 minutes or
shorter.
Finance and Logistics
----------------------
Participants are asked to travel at their own expense. There will be a
small conference fee to cover costs for coffee, teas, and luncheons.
There will also be an optional informal meal at a restaurant in Berlin
on Friday evening at additional cost.
The logistics are being organized by Dittrich and Partner
(http://www.dpc.de), the distributor of Stata in several countries
including Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, and
Hungary.
