st: An error with mi impute: collinear imputation (dependent) variables detected

Hi all,
I received the following error when using the mi impute command: "mi
impute mvn: collinear imputation (dependent) variables detected." A
couple of months ago, this problem was addressed
(http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2011-10/msg00720.html) with
the advice that "The dependent variables in -mi impute mvn- are the
variables to be
imputed---the left-hand-side variables. The [user] will need to
remove the collinear variable . . . from the left-hand side."
I understand that removing the collinear variable will enable the
imputation process to run. But, is there anything to be done to
impute values for the variable that is removed or will its missing
values need to remain missing?
Sincerely,
Ben Highton
