Hi Ugo,

I've run into a similar problem on a couple of different Macs when trying to update Stata that was installed by a different user. My solution was to go to Applications > Stata, use Command-i to get info. I then changed the sharing & permissions settings such that admin users have read & write access and then applied those changes to all enclosed items within the application folder. It's far more efficient than modifying permissions on each file and folder individually...
