There's SAS code for an improved version (includes octarine) at http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi23/Posters/p176.pdf
And there's a paper at http://www.springerlink.com/content/27847n22026l8577/fulltext.pdf which discusses the whole issue and introduces yet another test.
