However, I am curious what others recommend about uninstalling version 10
from my computer? Is there anything I should consider in doing so? I
searched help and old postings, but could not find any recommendations.
I have Stata 7 thru 11 on my machine. Besides what others have said:
* I have some programs I have written that are on SSC. e.g. gologit2
says it works with Stata 8.2. If I tweak the program, I don't want
to zap it unnecessarily and keep it from working with older versions
of Stata. So, I will fire up Stata 8 and make sure the program still works ok.
* A lot of older commands become outdated but continue to work under
version control. By keeping older versions of Stata around I can
check the help files for those commands if necessary.
Whether I will bother to re-install all these old versions when I get
a new computer is another matter.
