Place all files from a particular package from SSC or SJ in the SITE directory. 

On my Unix machine, that directory is 

SITE:  /Applications/stata/ado/site/

compare with   PLUS:  ~/Library/Application Support/Stata/ado/plus/

which references a user-specific directory.
