The mild irony being that -estout- et al. aren't official commands,
but are written by Ben Jann and support LaTex, HTML, tab-delimited and
fixed-width output.
Just as much as you have a limited amount of time and resources to put
into learning how to use Stata and achieve _exactly_ what you want,
the same is true of StataCorp developers, they can implement
everyone's wishes ("You can please some of the people some of the
time, but you can't please all the people all of the time"). The
desire to have better "standardised" table output crops up regularly
and so far most development on this front has come from users rather
than StataCorp.
