Thanks to Kit Baum, two new packages for ordinal
response variables are available from SSC.
1) ?ordvar- calculates several related measures
of dispersion and consensus for ordinal
variables, along with standard errors for them.
To install, type -ssc install ordvar-
2) ?r2o- calculates an explained variation fit
measure for ordinal response models. To install, type ?ssc install r2o-.
Both packages treat ordinal variables without
assumptions about inter-category
distances. ?r2o- requires no assumption of a
particular distributional form, method of
estimation, or type of response model. The
measures implemented in these packages are
documented in published work, cited in their respective help files.
