I would say Adrian has a good point there: The -start- and -end- options
are poorly documented, and the dialog box is not much help, either:

Subject: st: difficulties entering start and end date in rolling
Dear Statalist users,
I am using the "rolling" function and want to specify start() and end()
date. Having used both "sort" and "tsset" to make the data ready for
time-series analysis, I wonder how to enter those dates...2004m1 does
not work?! What does time_constant mean?
Cheers,
ADrian
