Yes, I did make a mistake. I meant -multencode- from SSC. Thanks for
alerting me to that.
But even -multencode- will stumble, so far as I can recall, if some of
Ann's codes do not occur in the data, so although I remain fond of
-multencode- I am not sure it offers the best solution.
In my previous I suggested looking at Eric Booth's solution.

neither -findit- nor -ssc describe m- are able to find -mencode-
anyplace
did you make a typo?
