However, it is possible to save windowing preferences so that windows are snapped to exactly where you want them. For instance, for teaching purposes I always put the command line at the top of the screen, since this is most likely to be visible to everyone. I use the windows preferences as the equivalent of 'snap to grid', to get wandering windows back from wherever I parked them...
