The trick is to avoid evaluation of the local, which means that you
need to leave out the equal sign. For example I would write the line
local TFRj`i'="TotFR`i'=(" + "`TFR'" + "`mult`i''" + ") "
as
local TFRj`i' "TotFR`i'=( `TFR' `mult`i'' )"
