Thanks to Kit Baum the latest version of -lookfor_all- is now available
to be downloaded from the SSC:
. ssc install lookfor_all, replace
The -lookfor_all- help page on the SSC website:
http://repec.org/bocode/l/lookfor_all.html
Michael Mitchell suggested that -lookfor_all- should be also able to search
through variable and/or dataset notes if the user wanted to also search for
keywords that might exist in notes so I added the options:
vnotes - also search for words in variable notes
dnotes - also search for words in dataset notes
notes - also search for words in both variable notes and dataset notes
So if you are trying to find a dataset that you have stored away in some
directory, you should be able to use -lookfor_all- to find it by specifying
a keyword or set of keywords that should exist as a variable name, or in a
variable label, or a value label or now in a variable note or dataset note.
-lookfor_all- by default searches through Stata datasets only in the current
directory but can also search through Stata datasets in subdirectories or
through Stata datasets in a whole different directory tree.
