As you can see from -help use-, it takes the -in- and -if- qualifiers. So
the first 100 obs would be loaded via
-use "name of dataset" in 1/100"-
Similarly, you can pass a -varlist-:
-use "variable names" using "name of dataset"-

I have a huge dataset (200 GB) which I cannot open on STATA. Is there
any way I can make STATA to open the set only for selected variables
or choose the first, say, 100 observations only?
Thanks in advance for any recommendations, Miyu
