For the last two days I receive the following error after entering -ssc
new-. ( BTW -ssc hot- works fine)
ssc new
(contacting
http://repec.org)
file ssc_results.smcl could not be opened
r(603);
Error(603) reads:
"file __________ could not be opened;
This file, although found, failed to open properly. This
error is unlikely to occur. You will have to review your
operating system's manual to determine why it occurred."
I have Windows 7; Stata version 11.1.
Any idea what settings in Windows 7 might cause such an error?
The file ssc_results.smcl should end up in the current working directory. When you get the error, do
pwd
within Stata, and see what that directory is. (It is also displayed somewhere on screen; not sure where in Windows). You need to be able to write a new file in that directory.
