Hello Martin,
I am using Windows Vista, a 32-bit OS as my system says, and STATA SE 10.1,
the latest version. Let's see what the archives say about this problem.
Kind regards and thanks a lot
Pascal

Pascal:
You can search the archive, and will find threads like
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2006-01/msg00357.html where users
have run into this problem. Of course, given the complexity (I imagine) of
-ssc d cmp-, you cannot just pull over to the hard shoulder and take a look
under the hood to split calculations into parts. What you can do is a)
decrease the sample size or b) get more memory. What is your current
hardware setup? What`s your OS? With 64-bit OSes and 64-bit Stata, you
almost never run out of memory.

system ?!
Hello STATAusers,
Martin gave me the extremely helpful advice to use the ?cmp? command to
implement a three-stage selection model. So far it works fine. However, when
modeling the three-stage system with two selection equations and 1,000,000
observations I get the following error message when cmp tries to estimate
the combined model:
<istmt>: 3900 unable to allocate real <tmp>[1224521,46]
r(3900);
I already allocated the maximum memory (1000m) and matsize (10,000) to
STATA. I still get this error message.
So you have an idea how to solve the memory problem?
