More to the point, the interaction term used by lincom immediately after regress means something completely different than the same interaction term used by lincom after margins after regress. After regress, the interaction term refers to the coefficient in the regression model, which can be complicated depending on the model as shown in the last email. After margins, the interaction term refers to the cell mean or other statistic depending on the estimator.
