Sorry, reading the help more carefully, each of the options lat{1|2} and lon{1|2} take a varlist of one, two or three variables, corresponding to degrees, minutes, seconds. Thus 30.5 deg would be lat1(latdeg latmin) where latdeg = 30 and latmin = 30.
