Hi
Portable stata may be a way away but you can get remote desktop apps for smartphones from which you can access your office/home computer and should enable you to do stuff just as with any remote desktop software. Might be a bit of a challenge but with a rdp enabled phone + a external keypad (maybe even a mouse) http://www.smartdevicecentral.com/article/add+a+keyboard+and+mouse+to+your+smartphone/212220_1.aspx you should be able to get most things done. So ideally a smarphone with inbuilt projector for example http://on10.net/blogs/sarahintampa/New-Windows-Smartphone-Includes-Built-in-PowerPoint-Projector/
+ bluetooth keyboard and mouse should do it. But then you might just get a netbook!.
