Weirdly enough, Stata rejects your advances if you ask for an -xline()- in your initial call:
*******
sysuse auto, clear
graph hbox mpg, xline(24)
*******
But when editing the graph produced via -graph hbox mpg- in the Graph Editor, the dialog box "Axis porperties, reference line" calls the value to enter "X axis value"...

I know how to insert a line into a box plot: graph box var yline(value). According to Hamilton (Statistics with Stat v9), you could do the same using hbox. Apparently one cannot use this command with Stata11. Any suggestions about how to draw a line using hbox? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
