Sorry for the late reply. I was away in India for a while and I just
came back. Thank you for your valuable inputs. I have written the
maximum likelihood function earlier and I was able to fix the bug in
the code. Although the program works, the problem is now with the
convergence. Perhaps I need to add second order necessary conditions.
I'll implement the second order conditions this week.
