Might I recommend the fine GUI interface that has been in Stata since version 8? It's very helpful for new users as a bridge to the syntax. For many commands I like the GUI just because it lays out all the options. I get the syntax once and then copy it into an editor for subsequent editing, replication, etc. Savse onn teh typox.
