Hello
I am using Stata 11 on Windows Vista. I use –spmap- program
(downloaded from SSC) authored by Maurizio Pisati to draw various
maps. Since I have to print these maps in black and white, I am
looking at filling the map polygons with patterns like stripes,
crosses, etc.
I came across a previous thread on the list
(http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2009-12/msg00630.html) in
which Sergiy had suggested that this could be done using his -twoway
parea- ado file availablefrom SSC. I have downloaded this ado file
and I also looked at the example "PareaMap.PNG" that Sergiy refers to
in his post. Even so, I am unable to figure out how the –twoway
parea- command could be integrated with the –spmap- command. My
attempts like the two commands outlined below did not work
twoway parea spmap lq_accy using msacoord, id(msaid) pattern(pattern8)
spmap lq_accy using msacoord, id(msaid) pattern(pattern8)
Could someone please suggest the right way approach to this issue?
Thanks
Padmakumar
