I should have read Paul's handout more carefully (

On page 23, he shows a good example of using his own -rcsgen- (from
ssc) to generate restricted splines for a covariate. I apologize for
the omission. On the subject of corrections, the "m" in "-mvrs-" and
in "-mfp-" stands for "multivariable", not "multivariate".
