AW: st: AW: RE: data to Access by odbc
No, it is not the left single quote used for macros.
I got rid off it by:
egen `var'r = msub(`var'), f("'") r("-")
I might try StatTransfer the next days...

Is the sign ' in the data not a just the single quotation mark but really the single left quotation mark that is used in stata to mark local macros?
I have faced similar problems with data translated from SPSS in which the "left" single quotation was used in variable labels.
