(Perhaps for StataCorp)
Are there any differences in the .dta files produced by Stata 11 compared
with those produced by Stata 10? (which is to say, under Stata 11, will we
need to use -saveold- or a new version of Stat/Transfer to maintain backward
compatibility with Stata 10?)
Thanks, looking forward to Release 11, especially the Manuals in pdf.

StataCorp will have the authoritative last word, of course, but I'm guessing
that if X isn't mentioned among the announcement Web pages or in the Stata News
bulletin, then X isn't part of Stata 11 as-shipped next month.
So, things like Unicode (which seems as if it would have triggered the need for
a new file format if anything would), Mata integers, Kenward-Roger and whatnot
apparently weren't far enough along to make the 11.0 release cut-off date.
