Amadou,

I remember that I had activated the set debug on command for more
information about the error. This not helped me so much. Then I noticed that
in my file of coordinates there was a problem: the first record was not a
properly coordinated. I edited it and the error disappeared. Perhaps not the
same as yours, but it would be interesting if only for a dbf file after
editing the alleged error shp2 see if the program works. I'm not saying the
problem is due to the dbf file is corrupt, but it may be an error in
construction.

Henrique

Hi Henrique,

Thanks for your answer. I have already a dbf file that comes with the
shp file. Are you suggesting it is corrupted?
I follow your suggestion.
I open the dbf file in excel. Then I copy the cells and save them into
stata's editor and save the whole into stata format.

Then I issue my a tmap command (spmap doesn't seem to be working) and
I can draw my map.

But I have hundreds of dbf files to save. Is there any other solution?

Thanks.

Amadou.
