This is probably related to your OS--are you using Windows, in which
case these long names also get
short names like 1ST_RE~1.GPH, 1ST_RE~2.GPH, etc., maybe up through 1ST_R~11.GPH
(just guessing here)? Try
!cmd dir `c(pwd)'
and type "dir /X" into the commadn window.
