Dear Fred,

Thank you for your thoughtful response, it was helpful. In the mean time I
have been trying out the one driver I could find and it is working well so
far, although I have not tried anything too taxing. It is the OpenLink
Express Edition ODBC Driver for MySQL - 6.01. I checked their website to
see if they make a driver for MS SQL as well, and it looks like they do,
although I found it difficult to determine from their online documentation
if it is 64 bit compatible. You might want to check it out. Their drivers
all have a free trial period, so it might be worth a shot.

Best wishes,
Rachael
