st: rho in biprobit

Hello again,
In my biprobit I get rho=0.6 and 0.7 and then to 3.
I thought that rho has to be between -1 and 1. Am I right?
What is the econometric meaning of this rho being 3 then? If this is
nonsense then why does Stata runs and give that result anyway?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Nirina
