Thanks to Kit Baum, a new version of listtex is now available for
download from SSC. In Stata, use the -ssc- command to do this, or use
-adoupdate- if you already have an old version of -listtex-.
The -listtex- package is described as below on my website. The new
version is updated to Stata Version 10. It also fixes a bug, which
caused the -appendto()- option not to accept filenames enclosed in
quotes. And the default -end()- string for rows of a LaTeX -tabular-
environment, produced by the row style option -rstyle(tabular)-, is now
"//" (one line feed), instead of "////" (two line feeds, therefore
double-spaced tables). The user can reset this default using the -end()-
option. Another change is the addition of 2 new modules -listtex_vars-
and -listtex_rstyle-, intended to be used by programmers who want to add
-headline()- lines to a table, containing variable names, labels,
characteristics, or other attributes of the variables in the table
columns.
Users of Stata Versions 9, 8 or 7 can still download the most recent
version of -listtex- compatible with their Stata versions from my
website. In Stata, type
net from "http://www.imperial.ac.uk/nhli/r.newson/stata9/"
or
net from "http://www.imperial.ac.uk/nhli/r.newson/stata8/"
or
net from "http://www.imperial.ac.uk/nhli/r.newson/stata7/"
and select the required version of the -listtex- package.
I would like to thank Neil Shephard for suggesting the change in the
default -end()- string for -rstyle(tabular)-, and Ian White for
suggesting that something like the -listtex_vars- module would be a good
idea for producing a row of variable names (or labels or
characteristics).
Best wishes
Roger

TITLE
listtex: List variables as rows of a TeX, HTML or word processor
table
DESCRIPTION/AUTHOR(S)
listtex outputs a list of variables to the Stata log or to a file
as TeX,
HTML or word processor table rows, which can then be inserted into
a TeX,
HTML or word processor table by cutting and pasting and/or file
linking
and/or embedding (eg using the TeX \input command). listtex
produces the
table rows, but may also produce a set of header lines before the
table
rows and/or footer lines after the table rows, containing
preambles and/or
table definitions and/or table headers and/or table footers, as
specified
by the user.
