st: do-file hygeine
Dear members of Statalist,
Using Stata has helped me realize an innate and compulsive need for
attention to detail. When it comes to good research practices in
general, I've learned good habits from my teachers and from this
paper:
Schreier AA, Wilson K, Resnik D. Academic research record-keeping:
best practices for individuals, group leaders, and institutions. Acad
Med 2006;81(1):42-7.
However, when it comes to Stata in particular, I'm feeling that
learning structured approaches from others would be useful. I'd
appreciate any pointers toward good do-file hygeine, i.e. management
practices to maximize good record keeping, with resulting least
likelihood of overlooking important details.
