st: Converting macro string of numbers to matrix or vector

I have a string macro that contains a list of numbers, and I need to 
convert that list to a vector.

I'm sure that there must be a stock answer for how to do this, but I 
cannot seem to find it in the help.  Can someone point me in the right 
direction?
